Oral Mouth Health

Ah the fall weather! I love it! Yesterday was Thanksgiving and I have so much to be thankful for - family & friends being at the top of the list. Everything else is second.

Psalm 100:4 says: Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. :)

I want to share about an herbal formula that helps with gum health. It's called Dr. Christopher's Herbal Tooth and Gum Powder. This formula is used to help strengthen the gums (bleeding & pyorrhea-type infections of the gums), and it assists in tightening loose teeth. This type of tooth powder will brighten teeth's luster and make for a healthier mouth.

I started using this because my gums have been bleeding and I went to the dentist and he said my gums have receded. He said what drs always say, "There's nothing you can do about it". Well, I would like to prove him wrong.

The herbal powder is a combination of the following herbs which have proven helpful in gum health: white oak bark, oat straw, comfrey root, horsetail grass, lobelia, cloves & peppermint.

You use the powder in place of regular toothpaste. Since it's a powder, you can pour a little in the palm of your hand and dip your toothbrush into it. Then brush your teeth as normal. In severe cases of gum disease, you can place the powder combination between the lips and gums around entire tooth area and leave on all night, six nights a week until improvement is evident.

I also use essential oil of peppermint as a mouthwash. Place a few drops in a glass and add water, swish around/gargle and rinse. Essential oil of myrrh is also extremely helpful with gum problems and you can use this as a mouthwash as well. Or you can go to the health food store and purchase an already made mouthwash with these oils in the ingredients.

You can purchase any of Dr. Christopher's herbs here:

Also, I noticed that when I stopped taking AIM's Gingko Sense, that my gums started acting crazy. Gingko is known to help with neuro health, especially with circulation to the brain, but apparently it also helps with gum health! The following description is from my AIM website & you can purchase this produce from there as well:

"This unique combination – ginkgo biloba with the essential fatty acid DHA, plus bilberry fruit extract, and the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin – provides overall support for your neuro health. Lutein and zeaxanthin, which are carotenoids found in green leafy vegetables, are essential for maintaining good eye health. And, like other carotenoids, they provide antioxidant support. Meanwhile ginkgo increases blood flow to the brain and supports circulation to the extremities."

Have a beautiful day and God bless you! :)

Herbal Cough Syrup

As much as I take care of my family and try to build up their immune system, there's still the many toxins that we're still exposed to on a daily basis that causes one of us to get sick. In this case, my 17 yr old daughter. She has a beautiful voice and sings in a worship band so getting sick with a cough for her is tough because it makes it difficult for her to sing.

I made an herbal cough syrup for her and although it tastes pretty nasty (according to her), it helps! It's an old-time remedy made with onions:

It is made by chopping up two large onions, placing into a glass pan and covering the onions with liquid honey, so the honey is at least one half inch above the onions in the pan. You can either place on low heat for several hours in a double boiler or in a pan over a pot of boiling water. Allow the onions to sit in the honey for a couple of hours. Stir, strain and press out the liquid and use it as a cough syrup. This can be from a teaspoon every 15 min or half hour, as needed. The juice extracted from the onion helps in loosening the cough and clearing chest congestion.

Another remedy, which I'm about to make, is to take some fresh ginger root and grate about an inch of ginger. Then squeeze the gratings to fill a teaspoon of ginger "juice". Mix the juice with a teaspoon of honey. You have another effective home remedy for cough. Use twice a day.

Make sure your loved one drinks plenty of herbal teas that have an expectorant effect on the lungs such as mullein, marshmallow, licorice or eucalyptus. These herbs also have some anti-inflammatory effects which help in soothing congested chest and licorice contains natural substances that help break up and loosen mucus.

Avoid dairy products as these are mucous forming foods and can aggravate the cough even further.

I have also been rubbing my daughter's chest and back with Dr. Christopher's Sen Sei Menthol Rub ointment which is a synergistic blend of herbs used for tension headaches, sinus pressure and sore muscles. It's used as a vaporizer and natural decongestant. She gets a lot of relief when I rub her down with that.

Another remedy which helps open up bronchial airways: Take half an onion, chop it up, place it in olive oil and warm up in a saute pan. Allow onions to cool down but not too much, then rub mixture on chest. Place warm cloth and allow the healing properties of the onions to penetrate into the chest cavity. I also place a heating pad on top of the warm cloth for continued comfort.

Of course all this takes time so you need to pray for peace, strength and patience as you take care of either yourself or your loved ones.

God has placed healing properties in the plants He created such as the onions and other herbs I have described. They all have special healing properties and we would do a great benefit to our bodies to take advantage of God's pharmacy.

Be blessed! :)

Colds, flu & Barleylife

Fall Greetings!

It's that time again - cold & flu season - yuck. The best way to treat a cold and flu is PREVENTION which involves building up a strong, healthy immune system.

One way of doing that is to make sure your body isn't either too acidic or too alkaline. You can check your urine pH using Litmus paper to find out if your food selection is providing the desired balance. Check urine pH three times a day. A urine pH of between 6.2 in the morning and 7.4 in the afternoon is ideal! This will vary throughout the day depending ont he foods you eat, allergic reactions, and stress factors.

Eating from a variety of fruits and vegetables allows the body to receive different nutrients, enzymes, chloryphyll and fiber to feed the cells of the body. Another whole food which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity, therefore activating immune system support, is green barley extract.

AIM Barleylife is an all natural, green barley juice concentrate that helps provide the daily nutrition your body needs to develop a strong foundation for good health. Research has found that green barley juice is abundant in enzymes, essential amino acids and is rich in immune-system support.

You can get more information @ www.myaimstore.com/evaanderson Click on "shop products" then click on "Barleylife". You can place an order here for this life giving nutrient!

Have a blessed day! :)

Abscess.....

Wow, it's been a long time since I last wrote!

So my son had a growth on his chest that started off pea size and only got bigger. I thought it was a lymph node that got a little swollen and then it would be ok. But this got bigger and bigger and I got concerned so we went to the dr.

Our pediatrician examined him carefully and decided we should go to the ER. Once there, they admitted him saying he had cellulitis. Cellulitis is a soft skin infection that can be deadly if it spreads to other parts of the body.

They kept him over the weekend (cause we went on a friday) and on Sunday they released us with oral antibiotics and told us to go back if things got worse. Needless to say, we ended up back in the ER and long story short, he had surgery to drain the abcess that had formed on his chest. Modern medicine is a blessing but at the same time it's frustrating because drs are "practicing" medicine. There's no absolutes sometimes.

I just wish they had found out it was an abcess at first and it would've saved us all that time at the hospital (8 days). :( Not fun. But God's hand was evident and I was thankful that it wasn't anything worse.

My son is ok from the abcess as we went on Monday to have the loop vessel removed from his chest.

My Herbal Home Health Care book states that the basic cause of all abscesses, tumors, cysts, etc., stems back to an impure bloodstream which has been fouled by improper food intake which causes poor action of liver and bowels, a faulty digestion, or disturbances in the lympthatic glands. This is generally responsible for the excess accumulation of impurities in the blood.

So with this in mind, I'm going to start my son on Burdock root which in essence purifies the blood. I'm also going to start him on Dr. Christopher's Lymphatic Formula which is used to kill infection and clear toxins from the lympth system. Dr. Christopher's Black ointment has also come in handy - it's an herbal ointment formula that is used on externally on old ulcers, tumors, boils, warts, skin cancers, hemorrhoids and burns.

Winter is almost upon us and on my next post I will write about some natural ways to build up the immune system without taking flu shots or prescription meds.

Adios! :)
