Six Needs You Will Have in 2012

Happy New Year!!!!

My key word for this year is HOPE and I wait with anticipation at what the Lord will have in store for us this year. We read the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20 of how the people of Israel were faced with a great army and they prayed, fasted and cried out to the Lord. The Lord delivered them as they sang & worshiped Him. He said "The battle is not yours but God's!" Praise God that He will deliver us in our trials!

There will be good and bad and unfortunately the year started off with a "bang" (no pun intended) as my 21 yr old son rear-ended some lady on New Year's day. Thankfully he was fine but his brand new Mitsubishi was hurt pretty bad. It's in the repair shop now and we'll have to wait for the appraiser to determine the damage.

Sigh.....then my 24 yr old daughter called me in the middle of the night saying someone stole her wallet with all her tip earnings from hostessing all weekend - $400 cash! I immediately started praying and a song came to my mind. It was Luke 14:27 "Peace I leave with you...do not let your heart be troubled nor let it be afraid". I shared with my daughter and left it in God's hands. She just called me saying that someone found her wallet with all the money still in there! haha! Praise God again!

I'd like to also share part of the devotional I read this morning.
Six needs you are certain to have in 2012:
As you pass through the door of 2011 and enter the door of 2012, here are six of the needs you are certain to have...
1. There will be the need for prayer
2. There will be the need to trust
3. There will be the need to obey
4. There will be the need to forgive
5. There will be the need to be faithful
6. There will be the need for Jesus
One thing you can be certain about in the coming year is that you can't be certain about what is ahead. This is a great blessing, because you do not need to know. To know what is ahead and the details of what will happen would be too great a burden to carry and too great a responsibility to bear.

What you do need to know about the future is not what is ahead of you, but Who is ahead of you. It is the Lord who goes before you, is ahead of you, and is preparing the way for you. Your future is in His sure, strong, caring hands.

My prayer for you in 2012 is that you have a healthy & prosperous New Year!!! Be blessed.
